Star Wars the Force Awakens – Rey custom repaint doll

– the long slumbering star wars fan in me. So, after crying over the wonderful The Force Awakens trailer, I took a brunette Barbie doll and tried to paint her as Rey.

Hey, hey. #starwarsrey #tfa #theforceawakens #cusrompainteddolls #fashiondolls #bb8 #starwarsbb8 #bb8droid #fashiondollrepaints #barbierepaint #customsyatwarsfigure #customreyfigure #starwarsepisodevii #imnoone #imadethis #dollrepaints #ooakdolls #dollsta

Not perfect, considering trying to transfer a generic barbie face, but if and when the actual Daisy Ridley face sculpts (oh how I wish for a doll and not some ugly action figures) appear, they would be so nice to repaint and most likely to gain nice resemblance. In the meantime, this Rey doll brightens up my day, waiting for the movie 🙂
And no, I don’t have tickets… I don’t have anyone to go with so I didn’t want to try to get opening night tickets for the fear my social anxiety might prevent me from going alone :/
And then there would be an empty seat at the opening. Not fair for the one who didn’t get a ticket.
It really has been that bad lately, I’ll just try covering my ears from gossip after opening and sneak in to see a day show some time soon…

Fall Fashion Dolls

I had high hopes of making a lot more Autumn fashions for dolls, but basically just made a few simple coats and knitted some scarves. Putting some on CustomFashionDoll.etsy.com on Monday, today I really really want to have time to draw.

Not enough hours in a day… and I’m 80-90% un-employed, with no social life and only one kid!* How do people manage?

Chunky scarves time… Chunky blob of clothes time is coming…

Whimsical polka dot rain coat, clothes modeled by 12″ Fashion Royalty doll Veronique Perring! Alas I don’t have enough to make a life size version, I’d love a pretty raincoat like this for myself!

Ariel, the little mermaid doll – she’s repainted by me, but as you can see her face paint is not finished yet. What I said about hours in a day…
Here’s sporting an One piece suit.

Now, time for afternoon walk, then hopefully finally chance to sit down and draw…

Free Printables: Animal, pirates and ninjas halloween masks for fashion dolls!

Went on and designed a few silly masks for regular playscale fashion dolls like Barbies to print at home 😀
Or, just for fun, or to tease your guinea pig (oh don’t tease guinea pigs…) or print out 50% to get dollhouse scale.
I know they don’t look like much, but took hours for me to make them… I may refine them later and update, but then again, there’s only so many free hours in a day so I thought better share now as otherwise I might forget…

Pirates masks! Ninja masks! Kabuki Mask!

//not for resale or Re-upload! Feel free to share with link to the original, please 🙂

Print on thicker paper/cardstock. The original is postcard size, approx 10x15cm /4×6” so make sure you’re printing 100% and NOT fit to page otherwise you’ll end up with huge masks! Unless, you want 1/3 masks for SD BJD, then choose to print Fit to page, it might work, let me know! 😀 Though the print quality may be very poor if printed bigger, I re-scaled these to allow easy print in their intended size.

Don’t have a printer?

Made them available as higher resolution greeting cards on Cafepress, should you not have a printer, or maybe someone might find this a nice idea for a combined birthday card including a little gift. The card is folded so you can still write your message there and it won’t get cut 🙂 And honestly, if I’d go and print these to sell, the price would be much higher than cafepress cards…

How to make?

Tutorial coming later! Craft should be easy enough to make without instructions, but there are a few tips and tricks I’d like to share to make sure you won’t get frustrated with this tiny craft – it can be tricky making delicate little masks, so hoping to make video tutorial next week-end.

Stay tuned on this blog and Merineiti youtube channel!

Ps. you can always wish for a craft!
Pps. Yes, I think I’m whimsical enough to make a few celebrity masks available (to print at home only) to your dolls to wear 😀 which celebrity would you want as a miniature mask?

How to sew ruffled skirt for fashion dolls – monster high, Ellowyne, Barbie…

No printable fashion doll clothes patterns this time, as the pieces are simple rectangles! All you need is a ruler 🙂
Trying to get a video up later, feel free to ask questions… This is the skirt part, previously tutorial to upper part of Rococo dress for monster high doll.

Follow blog for future skirt tutorial and how to make monster high doll shoes

Follow blog for future doll clothes tutorials. If you don’t sew and wish to have something like this, you can take a look over at my etsy shop CustomFashionDoll.etsy.com or contact me for custom fashion doll clothes commission

Basically, altering the size of the rectangles, you can make this to fit any doll. The waist piece is the one that matters – it should be at least an inch/2.5cm bigger than your doll’s waist to allow small seam allowance and overlap.

Other pieces do not matter as much,  as long as they are wider than the widest part of your doll, and the length is to your liking. So you can make the skirt fuller, or smaller. You can make this style shorter or longer, or sew more tiers of ruffles instead of just one.

Pieces for Monster High skirt:

8cm x 3.5cm (cut two)

13cm x 30cm

5cm x 90cm

Katniss Everdeen doll getting new clothes

First draft doll dress inspired by the dress in #thehungergames movie #fashiondolls #sewing #Katniss #Girlonfire #hungergames #katnisseverdeen #reddress #barbieFirst draft of the Girl On Fire dress, using what ever fabrics I had at home, so it is by all means not a screen accurate version… though doubt a barbie size would ever be… It lacks the tulle, as I only have white and fear if it is home dyed to red, it might stain the doll. Also wondering if the flames in the skirt tail should be made with glue and glitter (glitter, glitter everywhere) or maybe it’s possible to find f.ex. nail art pieces that would work.

It is Katniss Everdeen doll. Can’t wait repainting her, and doing something with her hair, the goddess headsculpt .is so pretty!

Second version of Mockingjay costume is in progress, (real feathers, or fabric?) and I think I’ll also make the light blue reaping dress, it is quite pretty in it’s simplicity.
